On the eve of March 8, Ragusa is preparing to experience an afternoon of mobilization dedicated to women's rights and the fight against all forms of patriarchal violence. Tomorrow, on the occasion of the International Women's Day, the No Wars Assembly is promoting the event “Lott8 marzo disarmiamo il patriarcato”, a march that aims to bring voices, bodies, and awareness to the streets of the city.

The departure is set for 4 PM from Piazza Stazione. From there, the group will move along a route that will pass through some of the most central streets: via Tenente Lena, piazza Libertà, via Roma, until reaching the Maria Occhipinti roundabout, symbolically chosen as the endpoint. The entire journey will last about two and a half hours.

This will not be a simple parade: along the route, there will be stops to listen to speeches, readings, and messages, creating moments of collective reflection. The journey will be punctuated by music, choirs, and also a flash mob, designed to engage participants in a direct and immediate way. The organizers have announced that the loudest segments will be signaled in advance, allowing those who wish to step away for a few minutes.

At the end of the march, there will also be a decompression area, a quieter space where those in need can stop, rest, or simply catch their breath away from the louder sounds.
