Can you die for a piece of sidewalk? The tragic and absurd answer came in piazza Manganelli, where the banality of a prohibited parking spot turned into the stage for a fatality that takes your breath away.

A 60-year-old man lost his life not due to an accident, not due to an incurable disease, but due to the escalation of an argument that arose from nothing. According to initial reconstructions, currently under examination by the relevant authorities, it all began when a couple attempted to leave their car in an area where parking was not allowed.

The 60-year-old, noticing the infraction, approached to point out that they could not park there. What should have been a simple exchange of words or a civic correction escalated in a matter of moments.

A violent verbal altercation ensued: shouting, insults, and a tension that rose dramatically. The man, who carried the fragility of three pacemakers, could not withstand the emotional shock of the argument. At the peak of the discussion, the 60-year-old suddenly collapsed to the ground, struck by a massive heart attack.

While bystanders desperately tried to provide first aid and called for an ambulance, the unimaginable happened: the couple, instead of stopping to help, took advantage of the general confusion to flee and disappear.

The man was rushed to the hospital, but every attempt at resuscitation was in vain. His already weakened heart stopped beating shortly after arriving at the emergency room of Cannizzaro.

The carabinieri are conducting intense investigations to track down the two occupants of the car. Surveillance cameras in the area and testimonies from witnesses who saw the scene are being scrutinized.

The bitterness remains for a death that can only be described as "absurd." A shocked community wonders how it is possible that civil coexistence has regressed to the point of turning a trivial no-parking sign into a death sentence.
