Comiso, the Martina project lands at Carducci high school
The initiative aims to raise awareness among young people about the cancer phenomenon
On Saturday, March 7, the Lions Club Comiso Terra Iblea, chaired by Rosario Alescio, brought the service “Progetto Martina” to the “Carducci” Artistic High School in Comiso.
The meeting, aimed at numerous students, was also attended by the president of the eighth district, Gigi Bellassai, and several members of the Comiso Club.
The “Progetto Martina” is a free national cancer prevention program aimed at high school students (ages 16-18), with the goal of informing and raising awareness about risk factors and promoting a solid health culture.
The sessions are conducted by doctors, often members of the Lions association, using clear language and up-to-date materials.
The initiative has already involved over a million girls and boys across Italy, demonstrating a positive effect on the adoption of healthier lifestyles.
The meeting in Comiso, coordinated by Dr. Concetta Puccia, featured presentations from industry specialists: Dr. Marco Ambrogio, Dr. Raffaele Vaccaro, Dr. Pina Giaccone, and Dr. Sebastiana Ragonese, who explained to the youth the main prevention strategies and the importance of correct habits for health protection.
The Lions Club Comiso Terra Iblea, under the guidance of President Alescio, continues in the path of solidarity and awareness initiatives, contributing to the formation of a more informed and responsible community.
