Ukraine sends interceptor drones and experts to protect US bases in Jordan
Zelensky's move to assist Middle Eastern countries in defending against Iranian drones
The Ukraine has sent interceptor drones and a team of drone experts to protect U.S. military bases in Jordan. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the New York Times.
According to the Ukrainian leader, the United States requested help on Thursday and the Ukrainian team departed the following day. "We reacted immediately," Zelensky said on Friday evening during a train journey I took with him from eastern Ukraine to the capital, Kyiv. "I said yes, of course, we will send our experts." The White House did not respond to the question of whether the United States had requested help from Ukraine.
In the days following the start of the war between the United States and Israel in Iran, Zelensky stated that he and his team received calls from leaders of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia seeking assistance. During the interview with the Times on Friday, Zelensky stated that another team of Ukrainian experts would be heading to the Middle East to help nations assess how to protect themselves from Iranian drones, in addition to the use of expensive Patriot interceptors.
