Arsenal of 70 hidden knives found in bedroom and drugs in a bag: a 26-year-old arrested in the Libertà district of Palermo

A routine police check turned into a major seizure of weapons and drugs in the Libertà neighborhood of Palermo. Officers from the local police station, engaged in a home search at the residence of a suspect for another crime, came across a 26-year-old whose behavior immediately raised suspicions.

During the inspection, the police found a block of hashish weighing about 90 grams inside the young man's bag. The discovery of the drug prompted investigators to extend the search to the 26-year-old's home, leading to a disturbing find: a veritable arsenal of bladed weapons stored in a box next to the bed.

The seizure tally counts about 70 weapons, including forty knuckle dusters (some equipped with integrated blades), switchblades of various sizes, a baton, telescopic sticks, and several tasers. All the military material has been seized by the authorities.

While the possession of the weapons led to a report filed against the suspect for illegal possession, regarding the drug issue, the young man was arrested in the act on charges of possession with intent to distribute. The Preliminary Investigating Judge has already validated the restrictive measure.
