51-year-old in trouble
At the stadium with a folding knife: report (and Daspo coming)
The filtering controls at the 'De Simone' in Syracuse allowed the police to intercept the man before entering the sector
During the security checks at the access gates of the stadium «Nicola De Simone», on the occasion of the match between Siracusa and Giugliano, officers intercepted a man armed with a folding knife.
The individual, a 51-year-old from Siracusa, was stopped just as he was attempting to enter one of the sections of the facility. The weapon was immediately seized, preventing it from being brought into the crowded stands.
After the usual formalities, the man was reported for carrying an offensive weapon without justification. However, his situation is set to worsen on an administrative level: the police headquarters has already initiated the process for the issuance of a DASPO, which will keep the fifty-one-year-old away from the stands for the coming years.
“Procedures for the issuance of a measure against the individual are underway,” authorities confirm, reiterating that attention remains extremely high to ensure that football remains a moment of safe gathering for families and fans from Aretusa.
