This is the outcome of the major inspection, for the prevention and repression of the phenomenon of illegal sale of fruit and vegetable products in public areas, carried out by the agents of the local police. In the latest "blitz" of inspections, the focus was on street vendors and fixed stalls who, with their vehicles loaded with products, illegally occupy public spaces. This is an ongoing phenomenon both in the city center and in peripheral areas. A merchant from Agrigento was caught selling food products, fruits and vegetables, without authorization.

On the sidelines of the inspection, the closure of the retail store and the seizure of the truck used to transport the products were initiated. The vehicle parked next to the establishment was found to be without insurance (expired for weeks) and inspection. The fruits and vegetables, with verified traceability of origin and compliant with current hygiene regulations, were returned to the owner.
