The post by Romina Power that is causing a stir about the 'other family of the woods'
The singer, ex-wife of Al Bano, addresses the Trevallion-Birmingham case with a comparison that is provoking reactions
The social media post by Romina Power could not fail to provoke reactions, as she published an old family photo on her Instagram profile, depicting her with Al Bano and their four children when they were still young, accompanied by the caption: «The other family of the woods». The reference is to the Trevallion-Birmingham family, which has been at the center of a judicial and media case in recent months due to the provisions of the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila, which first ordered the removal of the three children along with mom Catherine to a foster home and, in recent days, the separation of the latter from the children.
Romina Power, always sensitive to certain themes such as a philosophy of life connected to nature, had already expressed herself a few days earlier with another post.
«So far, I have not expressed my opinion regarding what this family is going through - writes Romina -. In the 1960s, Al Bano and I were the family in the woods, only we also did tours and recorded albums. If someone had done to me what they are doing to this poor mom, I would have become a tiger!! But how dare they separate a mother from her children? The only mistake they made was choosing Italy to live in. If they had chosen another country, like Greece, Portugal, Spain; this would not have happened! But how Italy is changing! What sadness. I hope Giorgia Meloni can intervene to protect this family!» The artist also tagged the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. "If someone had done to me what they are doing to them, I would have become a tiger."

Many, as has been happening for months on social media, including threats and insults (for the president of the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila, Cecilia Angrisano, surveillance has been increased), are commenting in particular on the comparison of the Power family to that of the Palmoli case. A comparison that seems unlikely to most, starting from the socio-economic conditions of the two families. Many point out that the estate in Cellino San Marco, where Al Bano currently still lives with his current family (partner Loredana Lecciso and their two children, ed.), has nothing to do with the dilapidated farmhouse lacking the most essential services where the family Trevallion-Birmingham has chosen to live, putting at risk, according to investigations launched after an unintentional mushroom poisoning, the safety of their three children.
