Metro, works on the Catania Nesima-Misterbianco: controlled micro-charges for the ventilation and safety well of the tunnel

The technical interventions on the Catania Nesima-Misterbianco section of the Catania subway have been initiated, as part of the enhancement works of the Ferrovia Circumetnea entrusted to Cmc Ravenna. From April 13 to 30, in the area of corso Carlo Marx, in the commercial area of Misterbianco, controlled micro-charges will be used for the construction of a ventilation and safety shaft for the tunnel. The operations will take place only on weekdays and during daytime, with advance warning systems for the population via megaphones and acoustic signals. The intervention represents a fundamental technical step for the safety and completion of the new subway line.

In order to ensure maximum transparency and safety, the resident population and commercial activities in the area will be informed in advance about the activation of the explosive microcharges through a comprehensive warning system. A patrol equipped with a megaphone will traverse the main streets of the district three times before each intervention. Furthermore, the designated construction personnel will signal the start and conclusion of each individual operation, technically defined as "volata", through appropriate acoustic signals. This intervention represents a decisive step towards the completion of a strategic work that will connect the suburbs with the capital of Etna in a modern and fast way.
