The new stadium 'Renzo Barbera', the council gives its approval: here's what it will be like
Palermo City Council unanimously approves support for the redevelopment of the Renzo Barbera, to adapt the facility to UEFA standards and nominate it to host the final stages of European competitions
The City Council of Palermo has unanimously approved an order of the day regarding the renovation project for the Renzo Barbera stadium.
With the document, the chamber commits the mayor to represent, within the conference of services convened in the coming hours and in the subsequent institutional steps, the Council's intention to support every useful effort "so that the project allows the city of Palermo to remain in line with the UEFA standards necessary to host the final stages of the major European football competitions."
In the approved text, the councilors also emphasize "the importance of the collaborative climate that is being recorded among all the actors involved in the process, highlighting how this shared commitment represents a fundamental condition to accompany the renovation of the facility and strengthen the role of Palermo in the national and international football landscape."
The approved order of the day, all group leaders emphasize, "therefore intends to reaffirm the support of the City Council for a project considered strategic for the sporting and infrastructural future of the city."
