Palermo, two giants called up to the national team
Goalkeeper Joronen and striker Pohjanpalo return to the Finnish national team for two friendly matches
Palermo prepares for the high-profile match against Monza in Brianza (Saturday at 5:15 PM) with great focus because it knows it has a good chance to catch the team coached by Paolo Bianco in second place in the standings if Frosinone were to fall to Cesena.
Two of the protagonists of the exciting championship so far played by Inzaghi's men, goalkeeper Joronen and the top scorer of Serie B, Pohjanpalo, have been called up by the Finnish national team coach for the matches against New Zealand and Cape Verde scheduled for March 27 and 30. These are friendly matches following the Finnish team's failure to qualify for the World Cup. The two players will therefore leave Palermo during that period to join the national team.
The matches will take place during the same international window as the playoffs for World Cup qualification, which will also involve Italy. Obviously, at the end of the month, the Serie B championship will pause and resume with Palermo playing at Barbera on April 5, Easter day.
