Farewell to Manlio Gallo: the historic honorary president of the Palermo Bar Association passes away at 94
In 70 years of career, the lawyer has witnessed the most important judicial seasons of the city
The Palermo Bar mourns the passing of lawyer Manlio Gallo, a symbolic figure of Sicilian law and recently appointed Honorary President of the Bar Association of Palermo. With seventy years of career behind him, Gallo has witnessed the most significant seasons of the city's judicial history, becoming a model for entire generations of lawyers.
The President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, wanted to pay a heartfelt tribute to the professional, highlighting the rigor and moral integrity that characterized his long professional journey. "Lawyer Manlio Gallo represented an example of competence and a point of reference for all of us who have practiced a complex and exciting profession in this land," Schifani declared. "He was a witness to that intellectual freedom which is the principle that the entire legal profession must aspire to, in respect of legality and the rights of every citizen."
The passing of Gallo leaves a deep void not only among his family, to whom the condolences of the regional government have been extended, but throughout the institutional and legal world of Palermo, which loses a bulwark of ethics and civic passion.
