Palermo Prosecutor's Office, the CSM indicates the new deputy prosecutors: four names for the top positions of the investigating magistrates
The proposal unanimously voted by the fifth commission of the Superior Council
Important turning point for the structure of the Palermo Public Prosecutor's Office. The fifth commission of the Superior Council of the Judiciary has expressed a unanimous vote, proposing four high-profile candidates to fill the position of deputy prosecutor in the Sicilian capital.
The proposals involve two magistrates currently serving at the Palermo District Anti-Mafia Directorate, Francesca Mazzocco and Caterina Malagoli, whose deep knowledge of the territory and local criminal dynamics represents an added value for the office on G.B. Pesce Street. Alongside them, the commission has indicated Francesco Del Bene, an experienced magistrate currently a deputy prosecutor at the National Anti-Mafia Directorate, and Carlo Marzella, deputy attorney general at the Palermo Court of Appeal.
The procedure now requires that the nominations be reviewed by the CSM Plenary for final ratification. However, the fact that the proposal in the fifth commission has reached unanimity suggests an easy confirmation of the four names, which will complete the top team supporting the Chief Prosecutor.
The inclusion of these professional figures aims to enhance the activity of investigative coordination in a judicial office that has always been at the forefront in the fight against organized crime, corruption, and crimes against public administration.
