Goodbye between Etro and the Sicilian designer Marco De Vincenzo
Creative director for four years. "Mutual decision, new strategic phase for the brand"
Marco De Vincenzo
It is goodbye between Etro and Sicilian designer Marco de Vincenzo: a statement from the maison announces the conclusion of the collaboration with the designer, who has been the creative director of the brand for almost 4 years.
Years during which - the statement reads - "Marco has significantly contributed to the evolution of the aesthetic language of the Maison." De Vincenzo had the complex task of taking charge of the brand's historical and maximalist codes — starting from the iconic and hypnotic paisley pattern and the deep textile heritage — to rewrite them through a distinctly contemporary grammar. The farewell comes shortly after the last fashion show signed by the designer, presented during Milan Fashion Week.

The decision, "reached by mutual agreement, is part of a new strategic phase for the brand," which at the end of December saw the exit of the founding family from the company and a share restructuring, with a pool of investors composed of Rams Global, Mathias Facchini (Swinger International), and Giulio Gallazzi (through Sri Group), who acquired the minority stake.
Marco De Vincenzo was born in Messina in 1978, attended classical high school before leaving his homeland. In Rome, he studied at the European Institute of Design and was called at the age of 21 by Fendi to join the style office as an accessories designer. From that moment, he began his journey in the fashion world. In 2009, he created his eponymous prêt-à-porter brand, debuting with his first collection during Paris Haute Couture Week. In July of the same year, the designer won the scouting project Who is on Next by Vogue Italia and AltaRoma, and in September he began to show in the official calendar of Milan Fashion Week.
The designer dressed Levante for her appearance at Sanremo in 2020, but also Beyoncé, Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and Lady Gaga have been photographed wearing one of his creations.
