Fifty years and still going strong: special episode for the "birthday" of Tg2 Dossier

Fifty years of journalism and storytelling of reality. Tg2 Dossier, the longest-running in-depth program of public service in terms of programming continuity, second only to La Domenica Sportiva, celebrates half a century of broadcasting with the special 'Dossier 50 years of investigations', scheduled for tomorrow at 6 PM on Rai 2.

With a broad perspective on the major current issues, the magazine has traversed five decades of Italian and international history, documenting social, economic, and cultural changes through the language of investigation and reportage.

In these fifty years, it has brought into the homes of Italians hundreds of reports and testimonies, authored by generations of Tg2 journalists, keeping at the center the rigor of information and the ability to interpret the phenomena that mark the life of the country and the world.

“At Tg2 Dossier you had in addition — says Sergio Zavoli in an archival interview — a sort of fearlessness that helped you investigate without always having to reckon with the possible reactions that would come. We owe you a lot because you accredited us and told us that it was possible.”

The special episode, curated by Francesco Vitale with editing by Andrea Castagnone, is dedicated to the history of Tg2 Dossier: a journey through archive images that have now become historical documents, retracing the evolution of the program and the faces of the journalists who have shaped its path.
